A few months ago, I started writing a book, and I wanted to do some 3D work that would visualize my view of the book's environment.
So while starting to write down the idea, I made a spaceship and its interior in ue4 to help me envision the space in which the first part of the book would be written.
For the cover of the book, I wanted to make something myself in the book's theme. The crystal was sculpted and retopologized in blender, and the wings were rigged and animated in Maya with everything put together in ue4 with some particles in Niagara. The smoke was made and rendered in Houdini and then added in post-production.
